Love is in the air this month and we're feeling particularly generous.

Back to sweep you off your feet this February 14th is our fantastic Win a Valentine's Day to remember prize draw. With a bundle of romantically themed prizes up for grabs in our simple, free to enter draw it doesn't matter if you're love struck or love lost as we're on hand to make you feel extra special.

NHDC recently hosted a Business ratepayers meeting to clarify to local businesses its income and expenditure expectations for the forthcoming fiscal year. Below are the key points:

Launched last year and driven by Jenny Jones and her band of ‘Green House Angel’ volunteers, the Green House Community Market offers a wide variety of services for the local community. Occupying a large, multi-purpose all-weather trading space in Station Road, the Green House offers a wide range of community focused events, themed trading days, and an on site tea shop.

Five town centre shops have been shortlisted for their outstanding customer service. We want you to decide who offers a five star welcome to their customers, provides friendly and expert advice, and goes that extra mile to make shopping in Letchworth Town Centre a positive experience.

2012 promises to be an amazing year of events and activities in Letchworth Garden City. Here's just a taster of what we've got planned over the coming months. 

January, February & March

Rumours that Thomas Cook in Letchworth Garden City is closing are untrue. A statement from the company aims to address any concerns by members of the public. The statement reads:

It is customary at the start of each New Year to take a look back at the year that went before. I’m not one to break with tradition, so without further ado let us go back twelve months…

Uncertainty with the economy, a town in the middle of development, one of the coldest winters on record…. Hang on – is this definitely a review of last year?

Trading Up welcomes Lee Boswell as the new Town Centre Manager for Letchworth Garden City.

Lee, 39, joins the partnership from M&S where he was part of the management team at the flagship London Colney branch. Lee, who is married with 3 children, says he is looking forward to working in the town.

2010 is shaping up to be another exciting year for Letchworth Garden City town centre.

With street scene works in Leys Avenue due to be completed in May, the town centre shopping environment will be transformed. The massively eimproved environment will feature new landscaped seating areas, water features, sculptures and an enlarged Leys Square perfect for markets and events.

Behind the scenes planning is underway for a number of fantastic town centre events making use of the newly enlarged square and other locations. Watch this space for details.
