Past and Present - Leys Avenue
Past and Present, Leys Avenue

Four businesses in Letchworth have been busy setting up shop in new premises. First to get out of the blocks was Past and Present, a furniture store specialising in Antique pine. Proprietor Paul Lawrence moved across to Leys Avenue in November 2009 and is really pleased he took the plunge.

'I wish I had moved earlier. The six week leading up to Christmas were excellent' Paul told ShopLetchworth.

Radical InkMoving into Paul's old site in Openshaw Way is Richard Massos who runs Radical Ink, an independent retailer who creates fantastic personalised clothing and gifts. Richard had a tight turn around to move into his larger premises but the hard work has been worth it. Richard told us 'We needed bigger premises and a bigger profile and this has really hit the mark. Footfall is up and we've been able to increase our product range in store and move into online sales. It's been incredible what has happened since November, we're really happy'

The Groom RoomWith bright new premises on one of the main thoroughfares in town business is booming for 'The Groom Room', Gents Hairdressers. Owner Carmine Disalvo has been quick to recognise the positive results of his decision. Carmine said 'I'm 100% glad I've moved. We're so much busier now and I'm really confident about the future of The Groom Room'

Serenity Day SpaFebruary 18th was a big day for Sally Peacock as she moved her team across from The Gallery into a fantastic site on Station Road. Sally runs 'Serenity Day Spa', haven for someone looking for that little bit of pampering. Lee Boswell, town centre manager, was invited to the Grand opening and was shown around the new site.
'Sally and her team have done an amazing job with the design of the new site. It's really impressive' said Lee.
